Writing a module
Writing commits changes from the app's working copy into a physical transceiver. It needs a programmer board and the driver.
Before you write
- Read the module so its current contents are captured.
- Edit in the Editor — the app recalculates CC_BASE and CC_EXT checksums as needed.
- Unlock protected pages if the module is password-protected (see Protected memory & passwords).
Writing
Select the pages to write and start the write. A backup is taken automatically before writing, so the previous state is preserved in the code database.
After writing
Read the module again to confirm the new contents, and check identity and DDM on the Check transceiver screen.
Writing changes a real module permanently. Work on the correct pages, keep the backup, and verify by reading back.
If a read or write fails on the programmer — module not detected,
FFhreads,WRITE FAIL, a write that reverts — see EEPROM read & write errors.
