SFP+
SFP+ is the 10 Gb/s evolution of SFP in the same footprint. It won the 10G market against the larger XFP by moving the clock-and-data recovery and signal conditioning onto the host board, keeping the module small, cool and cheap.

Management interface
Same two-address SFF-8472 model as SFP (A0h identity, A2h diagnostics), with 10G-specific codes. Tunable DWDM SFP+ modules add the SFF-8690 page for channel/wavelength selection — the mechanism CodingBox uses to set the channel on tunable modules (see DWDM).
Linear vs limiting
SFP+ modules come in limiting (most) and linear (e.g. 10GBASE-LRM) receiver types; the host must support the type. The module advertises this in memory.
